Writing...

“ Write that down...”

We are encouraged to write things down that are of a higher order. These are things that pertain to what we think, what we imagine and what we see for our future or our very purpose in life.

We are exhorted to make it permanent and plain, both for later personal reference and so others may be informed of our intentions and aspirations. Who knows? Perhaps they will be significant in assisting us in fulfilling our purpose.

Writing clarifies your vision

In order to clearly write what you envision doing or where you are going in life so that others may understand, the road you are traveling on must first be clear to you. You must know for certain what your vision is and that your mind is made up. To convince others to “run” with your vision, you must first convince yourself. Writing these things down helps tremendously.

Writing helps to clear your path

When you write your personal thoughts, especially as they relate to your vision and purpose, you have the opportunity to see where you are going and just as importantly, where you have come from. It is nearly impossible to move forward unless you know where you have been. Knowing your past is crucial to fulfilling your purpose so that you don’t repeat the same mistakes or end up on the same dead-end road as before.

As you pen your goals using whatever method you choose, you will start to see patterns of behavior that you may have never stopped to notice before. You may see where you got in your own way or the influence others have had in your life experiences. You may see missed opportunities or snap decisions gone wrong. You may become aware of negative habits that you have.

Writing enables others to participate in your vision

When writing your vision and your purpose, write so that others may read it with crystal-clear understanding. As Habakkuk 2:2 states: “So that a runner can carry the correct message to others.”
Many plans and purposes have been unwittingly sabotaged by others who were excited to participate, but were running with the wrong message. Your purpose must be unmistakably clear.

But when others participate with the correct message, it’s amazing what can be accomplished. Many successful men and women have credited their achievements to having one or more individuals who understood the mission, joined the cause and made great strides on their behalf. Others have received phenomenal philanthropic financial support that ensured the fulfillment of a grandiose vision.

Believe it.

When your vision, message or purpose is clear,
you’ll find there are a host of eager supporters
waiting to run with it.
